Whether it’s Girls Night Out or Girls Night In, you’ve got to have music. A few months ago, we went looking for the best songs for girls night: The songs that make you want to celebrate with your girlfriends; songs with girl power! The girlfriends have spoken! The verdict on bunco as a girls night activity is…mixed. Almost half of you have never heard of or never tried the popular game of chance. Thirty-three percent of you “love it,” and only 8 percent of you “hate it.” Eleven percent of you “tolerate it because it gets the girls together.”
For those of you who don’t know what bunco is, the World Bunco Association can explain it to you in great detail. But basically, it’s a progressive dice game, played in pairs, that has taken girlfriend groups by storm. You can find bunco groups in practically every suburban subdivision in America. So, the results from our latest poll are in, and it looks like most of our girlfriends have a moderate amount of money to spend on their monthly Girls Night Out.
Only seven percent of you said you were flat broke. The vast majority were ok with spending about $25 on a monthly girls night out. And another lucky 23% could spend $50 and up for girls night fun. In this economy, that seems impressive! For those of you spending the cash, we’d love to hear where you go and what you do on your girls nights out. Dinner? Drinks? Theater? Let’s talk about it in the comments! And for those of you watching your wallets, remember that Girls Night In can be just as fun as Girls Night Out, while drastically cheaper! Find frugal girls night ideas here and here. And, be sure to take our latest poll: “What do you think of Bunco?” at the top of the left-hand column. Have a great week!
The results from our latest poll are in, and we think you need more girlfriend time, ladies! A full EIGHTY-FIVE PERCENT of you have a girls night once a month or less. As one commenter stated, “That is just sad!” It’s hard to enjoy the benefits of female friendship if you don’t actually spend time with your girlfriends. So, everybody get out those calendars right now and schedule a girls night in the next two weeks!
We are happy for the 44% of you who have a girls night once a month—that’s the largest group, and from our experience, a monthly girls night seems just about right. Once-a-month gatherings are easy to schedule in advance and not so frequent that they cause protest from husbands, kids, boyfriends, and other interested parties. About 15% of you get together with the girls more than once a month—kudos! We’d love to hear what you do when you get together. Here are the poll results:
Thanks to all who participated. Please vote in our new poll, “How much are you willing to spend on a Girls Night?” It’s in the left-hand column. We’ll report those results in a week or two. Meanwhile, we always love to hear your comments! Read the rest of this entry »
