Girlfriend Celebrations - Because Girlfriends Make Life Better

Great Ideas

Hello Girlfriends! A bunch of new party ideas are in the works, but meanwhile, we wanted to share a couple of great ideas we think you’ll enjoy.

First of all, kudos to our girlfriend Maureen, who hosted a "Girls Night Out" fundraiser for a local nursery school the other night. If you haven’t considered the girlfriend party as fundraiser, you need to know about this great way to have fun and do good at the same time. It can be done very, very simply. Our friend invited all the moms who have children in the preschool, and requested a $20 donation from those who attended. She then simply opened her lovely home, provided food and drink, and the ladies did the rest! The women were all excited to have an excuse to get together, and everyone had a great time. YOU can easily throw a similar bash for your local school, church, animal shelter, or favorite charity. It’s a great way for the hostess (you) to get to know people you might not feel comfortable inviting otherwise. Your guests will undoubtedly have a great time, and a local organization will benefit. Everybody wins. So, start thinking: who will be the beneficiary of your next girlfriend bash?

Second, many of you have asked us if we’d consider starting a website to "match up" potential girlfriends. We know the need is great, with so many women looking for new friends out there. So, we are thrilled to let you know about a new website called SistersByChoice.  Two smart women named Audra and Diane started this networking website to help women make real-life friends. It’s just recently launched, so please check it out and let them know what you think!

Hope you all are having a great fall. New parties are on the way, so stay tuned. And don’t forget to let us hear from you!

  1. Hello again Dawn and Tina,
I am enjoying your website so much, you can only imagine. I always have a dilemma in meeting with my old girlfreinds and I think I want to move on and meet “new” girlfriends. I will still keep my old friends, but I would really like to have friends who think of me as well and wondering how I am doing and not always me the one checking up on them. I will check out the website you have on this post! Thanks!!!
