Girlfriend Celebrations - Because Girlfriends Make Life Better

Getting Together As Easy as 1,2,3!

No more excuses: Getting together with girlfriends can be as easy as 1,2,3! We’ve put together some activities you can do in one hour, two hours, or three hours. Squeeze one in this week! If you have minimal time to spare, these ideas can create memories you will love to share.

Fun things to do in 1 hour

  • Meet at a coffee shop for a muffin, latte and some great conversation to start the day.
  • Join up after dinner and take a walk.  Burning calories while you’re catching up with your friend is guiltless.
  • Try a manicure for two at your local beauty bar.  Beautification and girl talk–what more can a girl ask for?
  • Lunch together at a nearby park.  Picnic and people watching, isn’t life great?
  • Catch up on the most recent Tivo or DVR recording of your favorite shows. Complete the evening with popcorn, chocolate-covered raisins and your friend. This is one hour to look forward to!

Fun things to do in 2 hours

  • Taste the flavor of a new restaurant together.  It’s easier to try new things with a friend.
  • Play a game of miniature golf.  Taking your angst out on a small round object while catching up on life with your friend, superb!
  • Challenge your friend to a game of Scrabble, Life or Monopoly.
  •  Meet after work hours for a yummy martini or mocktini, whichever seems fitting. De-stressing with friends makes life so much more enjoyable.
  • Catch a flick together at the local movie theater.  Sometimes mindless entertainment and a friend is just what we need.
  • Invite 3 friends over for a game of cards.  Euchre, hearts, wizard, liverpool, 63, take your pick.  Many great secrets have been divulged over a game of cards.

Fun things to do in 3 hours

  •  Sign up for a class together.  Stained glass, feng shui, tea making, dance, the possibilities are endless and more encouraging with a friend.
  •  Volunteer together for a few hours of local shelter work.  Not only will you be supporting the community, but you will be supporting each other.
  • Visit an art fair or community flea market.  Basking in the joy of a great find is much more enjoyable with a friend.
  • Go beading at a local bead store to make a new jewelry piece or even christmas and birthday presents.
  • Scour each other’s closet for fashion challenged finds.  A friend’s honesty can sometimes save us from disaster.

With these ideas in mind, check your calendar.  Surely, you can find an hour to pencil in a girlfriend or two. In the end, it will be time well spent connecting with those friends who help us feel good about ourselves. Remember, girlfriends are good for you! Don’t forget to check back with Girlfriend Celebrations for the latest party planning ideas. Have a great week!

  1. These are good reminders to get off my couch. I’ve stayed in for two days straight working and could use a girlfriend break! I called a friend to hoot about politics, momentarily forgetting that we are on opposite ends of the spectrum now. It was quite disappointing.

  2. Thanks Terry! I know I feel recharged and less stressed just from a phone conversation with one of my girlfriends. Of course, you might want to stay away from politics as a topic..:)
