Sometimes you just need to get away from it all and enjoy some GIRL TIME—especially in the middle of winter—and that’s why we’re so excited to tell you about this very special girlfriend getaway weekend, February 26-28, 2010 at the charming Irish Cottage Boutique Hotel in Galena, Illinois. We’re proud to be hosting this event along with Siobhainn O’Connor VanSanten from the O’Connor Show Irish Radio Program. Girlfriends, you deserve a mid-winter getaway that offers EVERYTHING a girl needs to feel rejuvenated – cozy surroundings, gourmet food, fancy drinks, spa treatments, shopping, pampering, relaxation, and of course, girlfriends! Bring your mom, your sister, your daughter, your best friends.

The Hotel

We’ve arranged a great room rate: Just $109/night (two-night minimum, double occupancy) includes a hot boutique breakfast each morning and free wi-fi. THIS OFFER IS NOT AVAILABLE ON LINE. You must call the Irish Cottage at and ask for the “Party for the Girls” rate.

Please note: $109 room rate is for a double queen room and is based on double occupancy. Two-night minimum. Additional persons may share your room for $15 per person per night. A one-night stay will be available at the rate of $139. Tax is additional. Travel to Galena is at your own expense.

There’s so much to do in this resort town, or you can do choose to do absolutely nothing – that’s the beauty of girlfriend getaways! We have personally stayed at the Irish Cottage and it is really lovely. When you see the pool, hot tub, spa, exercise room and Frank O’Dowd’s Pub featuring live entertainment, you may not want to leave the premises. Unless, of course, you decide to take advantage of the other fabulous opportunities we’ve set up just for you. (Please note, you can pay at the door for these events. Gourmet Meal Package

Wow! Enjoy a big Italian dinner Friday night at Vinny Vanucchi’s (salad, garlic bread, your choice of entree) and then party with the girls Saturday night as we are treated to a four-course gourmet meal at the acclaimed One Eleven Main. In addition, you’ll learn to prepare amazing food with an appetizer demo and dessert demo and your drinks are included Saturday via a Mojito and Sangria Workshop! Get Pretty and Pampered

Pick any two pampering mini spa services from Wild Clover Day Spa or A Clover on Main …choose from the 30 minute Intense Back massage, 25 minute Refresher facial, Elemental Nature pedicure, or mini-manicure/mini-pedicure combination. Calling ahead for reservations is recommended. $90.

A Clover on Main will also offer Makeup Application classes on Saturday for $10, which goes toward any makeup purchase.

Shop ‘Til You Drop

Learn how to refresh your wardrobe with an accessorizing workshop at Simply Elegant Boutique. (these will be offered on Saturday afternoon). Learn how to turn an old outfit into a new one with a few well-placed accessories. Then, enjoy the rest of the great shopping in downtown Galena. Free!
