But we need a little help from our friends! Our reader Onika wrote to us last night with an urgent query. She wants to put together a “fragrance” – themed girls night and she needs some help. Here’s what she says:
“I’m trying to plan a get together with a group of women. We are all friends. I want to do something unique. I came up with this idea to have a fragrance party. I really don’t know where to begin. All I know is that it has to be unique and fun. Can u please guide me on invitations, food and drinks, games and prizes, gifts and how to put the agenda of the party in order. My date is Dec. 13, 2008. I don’t have much time….PLEASE. I hope u can come up with some great ideas for me..Thank you so much..May God Bless You..Onika”

Hey girlfriends! Did you know today is National Chocolate Day? What a great excuse for a snack! And speaking of chocolate, you may remember a couple of weeks ago we told you about our girlfriend Vicki’s idea for a Pink Elephant Chocolate Exchange. Vicki hosted this fun, multigenerational party for a girlfriend with breast cancer, and it was a big success. 
Well, since we published that post, Vicki was kind enough to send pictures and more details. October is coming to a close, your Halloween plans have already been made, so what’s the next girls night on your calendar? November is the month when we celebrate Thanksgiving in the U.S. (our Canadian girlfriends have already celebrated Thanksgiving), and it’s also when holiday preparations begin in earnest. With the days getting shorter, bad news and politics filling the air with tension, and the holidays coming at us like a freight train, it’s time to combat your feelings of anxiety with appreciation. Did you know that grateful people tend to be happier, more helpful and forgiving, and less depressed than their less grateful counterparts? Luckily, appreciation is a skill that can be practiced. It’s safe to say we all feel grateful for our girlfriends, so girlfriends and gratitude should be a natural pairing. Here’s how to create an evening of comfort to nurture your friends.

s fun, freeing and relieves stress, and it’s great exercise. Going out dancing is a time-honored girlfriend tradition, and it’s especially good when your respective guys don’t like to dance (cue Abba’s “Dancing Queen,” flashing disco ball, and girlfriends dancing in a circle). The other seven will know her.” If you know someone affected by breast cancer, you surely want to help her feel less lonely and isolated, but you may not know how. By gathering together we can truly help—one party at a time—by celebrating and supporting our sisters, girlfriends, mothers and daughters touched by breast cancer.
